Meet our founders

Greg and Jeanette Summerville are the founders and directors of Guatemala Deaf Ministries.

In the beginning of 2010, they arrived in Guatemala with a calling to help the Deaf and soon realized that there was much work to be done. Guatemala Deaf Ministries was formed in 2011, to raise the support needed to educate, train, and bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the Deaf of that country, and to train nationals and missionaries to help in the ministry.

Greg and Jeanette have 8 children ranging in age from 22 to 39, and 15 grandchildren. In 1995, they began going on short-term mission trips to Rancho Sordo Mundo, a school for the Deaf in Mexico. God used Howard and Janet Grobstein, missionaries at RSM, to convince them to go to Guatemala and start a mission work among the Deaf.

Greg is a general contractor and Jeanette is an RN in California. They discover every day that where God leads, He also provides. As the Guatemala directors, they feel blessed to be a part of this great work.
