The school called Ministerio de Sordos was started in 2012 with nine students. The teachers were Greg, Jeanette, and Jonathan. It has slowly grown and now there are 45 students and six teachers. We are also able to offer a program called PRONEA, which operates through the Ministry of Education in Jutiapa. This is a special program for deaf students who have aged out of either primary, middle, or high school, which allows them to move at their own pace in studying and passing exams for each of these levels and receiving a diploma. It is such a joy to see deaf children learn language for the first time, and to have the opportunity to learn about God's love and salvation through Jesus Christ.
